Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Virginia Robinson Estate’s annual Garden Party. Now owned by the city, The Virginia Robinson Estate is a gorgeous place located in a posh neighborhood in West Los Angeles with acres of land, beautiful grounds, and a historic home.
Each year, they host a garden party–complete with tiny tea sandwiches and women wearing sun dresses and big hats.
YEP, GARDEN PARTIES DO EXIST GIRLS!!
The tour allows the public to view 5 private gardens in the L.A. area. Last year was Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner’s place. This year we got to see the home of the former golden couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston as well as….wait for it….the notorious Playboy mansion (and yes, it looks like it does on T.V. except that its more run down and in desperate need of an makeover. I was kind of grossed out–not gonna lie).
Now, onto some of my favorite inspirational images from the day.
First up, is this dreamy romantic master bedroom, complete with a branch-y canopy. Its filled with cream, white, and peach roses with some green foliage to make it look lush and full. And yes, it’s laying on a carpet of green grass. The bedding is soft, plush and inviting. Everything a bed should be!!
Next is the BATHROOM. Yep, they filled a vintage clawfoot bathtub and used it as a planter!
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE this in my outdoor garden!
And finally, is some DINING ROOM fabulousness.
Moss was all over this table. It was even used as the place setting charger!
I love the ticking stripe tablecloth complimented by the floral napkins!
So now I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU:
What elements of these designs would you take and actually want to implement in your own home or party?
Leave some comments!! I’d LOVE to get your input!!
Oh, and stay tuned next week for an ENTIRE KITCHEN that has ANTHRO written all over it!!!
Sweetly,

so awesome — a planted claw foot tub? unreal! and that bed IS gorgeous! WOW!
okay, totally beautiful but i’m not sure i would put those elements in my home except the large beautiful white flowers in the fluted vases!
can’t wait to see the anthro-kitchen!!
I know, right? It was unreal!! But SO SO cool!!
How fun! I would love to go to one of those someday! I like the table best … such cool settings and the centerpieces … wow!
Thanks, Sarah! It was so fun. I would love to throw a garden party. I just need those hydrangeas to stop dying on me! =)
Love that idea for the bath tub, helps really make it a garden party!
